How Does an e-waste event work?   Coastal E-waste will set up at your location on a Saturday or Sunday from 9am to 3pm on the date decided from your organization. We need 30 days advance notice to schdule any events. 

Who is responsible to promote the event?  In order to receive funds from the ewaste event we do ask the charity to promote the event. Coastal will do some local promoting such a local weekly newspapers, Internet, fliers and banners.  We do except the charity to to do some of the promoting as well. If the material collected does not out weigh the expenses for the event i.e. employees, marketing insurance, others, we will not be able to donate funds. The more material we collect, then the more funds can be donated.

What can we collect at ewaste events?  Items are computers, monitors, flat screens, televisions, laptops, cellular phones, toner cartridges, wire, batteries, scarp metal, AC units small appliances. Any item the uses electricity or takes batteries.  No large house hold appliances or toxic materials.

What happens to the electronic waste?  The items get dismantled, shredded and separated into glass, metal and plastic for recycling.  Any information on computer hard drives will be destroyed, so you have no worries about your personal information.  All products are kept here in the USA.
